When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.

Artistic statement
Belgian visual artist working at the intersection of realism and abstraction, with a focus on wildlife and the living world.
Through drawing, digital illustration and a recent sculptural research, I explore the presence of animals within contemplative and silent compositions.
My work questions the way we observe, organise and represent nature, and reflects on the fragility of the ecological balances that sustain it.
My work focuses on the representation of the living world, and more specifically on wildlife, situated at the boundary between realism and abstraction.
I depict animals with a deliberately high level of precision in order to preserve their presence, individuality and biological reality. These figures are removed from classical naturalistic settings and placed within constructed, graphic or symbolic environments that translate systems of thought such as language, rhythm, repetition, cycle and cartography.
By confronting realistic animal figures with abstract structures, I aim to shift the viewer’s gaze. The animal is no longer an isolated subject, but part of a larger system — a flow, a territory, a temporal or spatial structure.

Nature conservation
The question of nature conservation is present implicitly in my work. Through distance, structure and contemplation, my practice reflects on our relationship with the living world and its gradual disappearance.
